On the eve of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we are observing the campaign under the ENGAGE project through several public events. This year’s global theme is "Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls" and national theme is "নারী ও কন্যাশিশুর প্রতি সহিংসতা বন্ধে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হই, ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করি"

Women and girls remain at heightened risk in vulnerable situations. Climate change and environmental degradation increase their exposure to discrimination and violence—both offline and online. Many face digital abuse, including the misuse of their photos and personal information on social media. Women and girls in the disaster-prone areas faced more violence including TF-VAW than the non-disaster-prone areas (VAW report 2024, BBS and UNFPA). In this context, for creating a mass awareness and advocacy, we have developed a poster and leaflet with a theme on 'Climate change and environmental degradation increase VAW and risk of women. Let us join hands to create a safe and sustainable society, free from all forms of violence'.
